Minutes to spare or an hour or two?

5 minute challenge - Line Drawing

Julian Dyson Spotted Dog Falmouth Art Gallery collection

5 minutes to spare? Want to improve your drawing skills and observation?

Do a line drawing of your pet, or other creature using Julian Dyson's work above for inspiration.

Line drawings are great because they are quick and often capture the energy of the subject you are drawing.

A line drawing emphasizes form and outline over colour, shading, and texture. Give it a go and share your work with us.

What's involved?

You Will Need

A piece of paper (this could be the back of an envelope, a cereal/tea packet, any other packaging)

A pencil or pen

Your pet (if you don’t have a pet you could draw a favourite toy or ornament or look out the window and sketch a bird or neighbour’s cat)
