Organised by IntoTRI, Run Falmouth is Race 5 of the Cornwall GP Series but is also a fundraiser for Cornwall Hospice Care, which provides invaluable compassionate, specialist end of life care for patients, their families, and carers across Cornwall.
Runners are being invited to raise funds for the charity themselves and organisers are also donatng £2 from every entry fee to CHC.
The event is being held on Sunday, March 15 with registration taking place from 8.15am at the Princess Pavilion and the race starting at 10am from Cliff Road. The race course will take runners around Pendennis Headland, along the seafront and onto Swanpool and Maenporth before heading to Mawnan Smith and back to where they started on Cliff Road.
Although organisers have some volunteers, they are hoping to attract another 10-15 to join their ranks.
What's involved?
Volunteers would need to be available from 9.30am on the day with the race expected to be completed by 1.30pm. Marsalls will not necessarily have to be available for the full time of the event but ideally they would meet at the Princecss Pavilion at the start so organisers can be sure how many they have and allocate various spots on the course, Because of the length of the course, transport of some kind would be beneficial.
Essentially the role of a marshall is just to point runners in the right direction and ensure they follow the course correctly. No experience is needed and full insructions can be given before event day
Why get involved?
Your involvement with the event as a course marshall would not only help ensure Run Falmouth 2026 runs without a hitch, but would also help raise vital funds for Cornwall Hopice Care. For every volunteer that comes forward, a donation will be made to CHC, or alternatively some of the volunteers are choosing to take a free entry to next year's event instead - whichever you prefer.
