Falmouth Air Cadets are looking for Civilian Instructors

What is a Civilian Instructor?

A Civilian Instructor is a non-uniformed Volunteer within the RAF Air Cadets responsible for the delivery of Air Cadet Activities to Cadets aged 12-20. The subjects range from Aerospace and Cyber to Adventure Training and Sports. There is no need for Military experience, we value people from all walks of life who can bring enthusiasm and knowledge in a range of subjects to our Cadets.

What's involved?

You can give as much or as little time as you can, but Ideally we would like a 1 night per week commitment for our Squadron parades that operate twice a week. There are also a number of weekend and weekday events throughout the year that you can help with.

Why get involved?

Civilian Instructors are the backbone of the organisation.

You get life skills in teaching, planning & mentoring to name a few. You’ll also be eligible for training for nationally recognised qualifications including Adventure Training (Mountain Leader, DofE Leader), Life skills (First Aid at Work, First Aid Instructor) and specialist areas (Method of Instruction, Leadership & Management)

If interested there may be opportunities to move into a uniformed role and take on different duties including teaching Drill as a Non-Commissioned Officer or running a Squadron as a Commissioned Officer.

The Civilian Instructor role does not attract pay; however certain expenses are covered
