Can you commit to 3hrs a week to visit a family in their own home?
If you are friendly, non judgemental, a good listener/communicator, reliable, have a caring attitude, a warm & open personality and a sense of humour, this could be for you
Volunteers must be willing to work within HSK policies on Equality, Diversity, Safeguarding, Confidentiality & GDPR and complete paperwork as needed.
What's involved?
We provide a Preparation course which is 6 sessions (1 day a week for 6 weeks), normally 9.30am-2.30pm.
Enhanced DBS is required and we will pay for that.
We pay all related expenses for attending the course and visiting families, ongoing training and peer support events.
We match volunteers to families who are within 30mins travel distance of the family home so allowing a 2hr visit.
Volunteers offer practical, emotional support, activities with children and support to access community events and/or services.
