Set up by Falmouth Town Council in partnership with Falmouth School, the youth council is a new project open to pupils aged 11-17 yrs. It provides a platform for young people to contribute to conversations around issues affecting young people living, studying, visiting and working in Falmouth, and to help find the solutions. Got experience working with young people? Then this volunteer challenge could be for you!
What's involved?
As a volunteer, you'll support Falmouth youth council’s monthly meetings – helping with snacks, activities and guiding young people to feel confident in a council meeting setting. In between monthly meetings, our volunteer may be asked to attend events, help on youth council trips and support young people carry out research around Falmouth.
Why get involved?
Youth councils are run all over the country, providing an invaluable structure for young people to have their say in our communities. Falmouth’s new youth council offers a platform for young people to genuinely impact decisions made by the town council, alongside running their own projects to make positive changes for young people in Falmouth. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in supporting Falmouth’s new youth council in its very first year.
How to get involved?
This volunteer role requires an enhanced DBS check and prior experience working with young people.
