Minutes to spare or an hour or two?

KLOTH is looking for Volunteer Superstars

KLOTH is a Community Interest Company and rely on our volunteers to keep the library running.

What's involved?

Volunteers are needed for a number of roles including:

  • Opening the library, preparing things for borrows, assisting people with signing up to our system and with online bookings
  • Maintaining and fixing the things
  • PAT testing
  • Improving our online catalogue, listing items, linking user guides etc
  • Marketing and social media
  • Promoting the library at local events
  • Writing content for our website
  • Helping to bid for more funding to allow the library to do even more

Please note that there may be an element of lone working with the volunteer roles but we hope that with more volunteers we can ensure we work in pairs.

If you are interested in volunteering either individually or with a friend please contact us by email confirming your volunteer role and outlining your skills to: info@kloth.org.uk

Why get involved?

Kernow Library of Things (KLOTH) provides access to these tools, equipment and luxury items in an affordable way. This could be providing tools or equipment to improve home environment, to upcycle or recycle goods or to take up a new hobby . We aim to make borrowing normal for all the community but particularly for members of the community who may not be able to afford the things that they need to improve their circumstances.

Having a library of things means that everyone in a community shares items and uses them as and when they need to. The idea behind KLOTH is to build and connect our community and to move away from the idea that in order to use things we also need to own them.
