Falmouth Energy Partnership seeks "social media savvy" volunteer

The Falmouth Energy Partnership (FEP) is a community group which promotes local renewable energy and supports local energy poverty initiatives.

FEP began as an informal partnership connecting different institutions aimed at developing an integrated sustainable energy action plan for the Falmouth and Penryn Community Network area. This came out of local concerns on rising energy prices and future energy supply insecurity, solutions to which are local actions to increase local renewable energy supply and reduce energy needs.

FEP became a registered Industrial Provident Society on March 28th 2012, with the aim of local awareness raising on these issues and enabling investments in local renewable energy supply projects as well as supporting improved energy efficiency. In line with changes instituted by the Financial Conduct Authority, it became a ‘Registered Society’ in 2016.

The partnership is now looking for a volunteer interested in energy issues who can help promote its work across various social media platforms and its own website.

What's involved?

The volunteer will be expected to liaise with the partnership's directors and help create regular content for its social media presence, which includes Facebook, Instagram, X (previously Twitter) and possibly YouTube.

Initially this would involve creating monthly posts at the least, but would hopefully expand to weekly posts.

They would also liaise with the FEP's website admin team with the aim of linking such content back to its website - tuition will be provided for this.

It is expected this would require a commitment of about one to two hours a month.

Why get involved?

You would be helping to spread the word far and wide of exacttly what the Falmouth Energy Partmerhip does and encourage others to get engage with the partnership.
