Falmouth Food Co-op Kitchen is a volunteer run food initiative.
We’re cooking and delivering 4 meals a week (plus pudding) to those in need of some support. From cooking once a month at The Dracaena Centre (an incredible hub in Falmouth, housing many community groups and services) we are now batch cooking meals once a week. Falmouth Town Council let us use their kitchen at Princess Pavilion every Thursday. Each week teams of brilliant volunteers cook, pack and prepare meals to deliver to our community. Ingredients are ordered from Falmouth Food Co-op Grocery and local suppliers, topped up with rescued or surplus veg and food donations. Falmouth Food Co-op Kitchen has been running this meal delivery service since the beginning of April 2020.
If you would like to volunteer at the project please call Charlotte on 07789408957. No experience required! Jobs vary from food prep, cooking, washing up, packing and delivering.
What's involved?
Sign up on the rosta and meet the other volunteers for a full briefing every Thursday
Why get involved?
We want everyone to have access to healthy food. The pandemic only highlighted the many people falling under the radar who needed help with their basic needs. Now more than ever we believe it is important for communities to pull together, help each other and support those who need it. The deliveries are intended for anyone in the Falmouth and Penryn area who has limited, or no access to food. The meals are free with the option of pay-as-you-can donations.
