What's involved?

Whilst what’s happening up here at Pendennis Community Centre has been brilliant, a lot if work is involved if we want to be a bright, busy and sustainable Centre. 

We really want and need to drive the Centre forward as it’s a vital part of our mission to get a swimming pool back for the people of Falmouth and Penryn, so we are looking for people (as volunteers also) who may be able to help us with the below:

Social media/ engagement

Marketing and publicity

Event management

External room hiring

Cafe management

Cleaning

Managing volunteers

Do you have any experience in any of these (or in anything else that you think may help us) and have some spare time?

If so, please give us a shout.

Why get involved?

Pendennis Leisure CIO was established to galvanise community support for and prepare for a community lead operation of Ships & Castles in the wake of the announcement that Cornwall Council intended to recommend closure of our leisure centre from end March 2022.

Our aim is to seek and apply for external funding to reopen a much needed sustainable swimming and leisure centre at the site.  And to do that we need all the help we can get.
