Sea Cadet units are managed and run entirely by volunteers who work both directly with young people and behind the scenes, to help make a positive difference to young people who are often struggling in today’s world and their communities.
Falmouth & Penryn Sea Cadets is currently looking for Trustees and Uniformed and Non-Uniformed Instructors to support the sustainability and future of their charity.

What's involved?
What is involved as a Trustee?
As a unit Trustee you would be joining the Unit Management Team (UMT) who are responsible for running the unit at a strategic and management level to ensure we run safely, that its sustainable and to ensure that all decisions put the needs of young people first. Our UMT meet every 4-6 weeks either virtually or in person. There are many roles in the UMT for example:
• Fundraising Trustee
• Health and Safety Trustee
• Social Media / PR support
• Secretary, Treasurer and Chair roles
What is involved as an Instructor?
An Instructor within Sea Cadets is responsible for supporting the delivery of lessons and activities to help progress cadets through The Sea Cadet Experience. You do not need to have a background in the military or boating as full training will be given. Any amount of time you can give is appreciated. We have many instructor roles including:
• Uniformed Instructor & Non-Uniformed Instructor
• Boating Instructors e.g Paddle Sports, Rowing, Sailing, Powerboating
• First Aid Instructors
• Meteorology Instructors
• Marine Engineering Instructors
• Instructor for our Junior Cadets (age 9-11) / Instructor for our Senior
Cadets (age 12-18)
